M-Tec starts milling centre in Malmoe

M-Tec Dental is starting production of CAD/CAM milled crowns and bridges under the trade name Open Mill. The company has invested heavily in the latest technology so as to meet customers' needs for fit, quality and price.

Open Mill is in Malmö and is a trademark marketed by M-Tec Innovation, a newly started M-Tec Dental group company. In turn, it is one of the larger dental depots in Sweden for dental technicians. The company's operations for dentists are also rapidly expanding.

With the start-up of Open Mill, the next step is being taken.

“We've become the first dental depot in Sweden that can offer everything under one roof. Dental technicians can obtain their consumables, porcelain and implant components from us, and we can even quickly deliver CAD/CAM-produced crowns and bridges,” says Magnus Martinsson, managing director and partner in M-Tec.

M-Tec Dental has signed a partnership agreement with 3Shape, which is world-leading in scanning and CAD/CAM. M-Tec has thus become a distributor of an open version of 3Shape-scanner.

“It doesn't feel right to lock customers into agreements, so we're offering an entirely open milling centre where we can receive files from several different types of scanners. Even the 3Shape scanners we sell are entirely open. This means that we have to deliver top quality with short lead-times and at competitive prices. Customers will otherwise go elsewhere”, says Magus Martinsson.

Anders Tynell has recently been employed as a CNC operator for Open Mill. Patrik Lundström from M-Tec Dental is moving to a new position as product manager for Open Mill, effective 1 January 2010. Open Mill products can be ordered beginning in January 2010 and delivery times for Sweden and Denmark are from 24 to 48 hours.
